Welcome to the PDGA Website

The Pennsylvania Dairy Goat Association was organized and has been active since 1944.  The purpose of the PDGA is to promote the dairy goat and her products through a federation of individuals and associations.

The PDGA sponsors an American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) sanctioned show yearly.   This event is referred to as the “PDGA Big Weekend.”  The 3 day weekend show includes Senior Doe shows, Junior Doe shows for the ADGA registered or recorded breeds.  In conjunction with the show, PDGA sponsors a Cheese & Fudge Competition,   Silent Auction, Raffle table and a Pizza Party.

PDGA holds two meetings per year.  The meetings of the PDGA are held near State College, PA, or in the surrounding area.   One meeting is held in Spring/Summer often in conjunction with the show weekend.  The other is normally held in the Fall during  October or November.

PDGA supports and promotes our youth members.  PDGA offers memberships for all youth goat owners.  The club also sponsors an ADGA sanctioned Youth Show during the “PDGA Big Weekend.”   Additionally there are Showmanship classes, the PDGA Outstanding Youth Award & the (new in 2008) PDGA Outstanding Showman Award.   Also during the show weekend, the PDGA Youth Representative is selected.
PDGA publishes a quarterly newsletter, Keystone Dairy Goat News, which is available to all current members.

Please look around, and visit our membership list to find dairy goats near you.
